Their new album, Rise Ye Sunken Ships, debuted yesterday and is available for purchase on iTunes as well as for streaming on Grooveshark.
The 12-track album is an incredibly...

JUST RELEASED: Check out this video of Fitz & the Tantrums performing a live, “acoustic” version of their popular single, “MoneyGrabber”! Fitz & the Tantrums were the only group recorded during the Grooveshark Sessions @SXSW that relied more on the walls of the bus and hand claps than acoustic guitars. Look out for more Sessions with other up-and-coming artists, as...

Great Wilderness!
Get lost and found with one of our recently registered artists on Grooveshark Artists, Portland’s newfangled indie folk tribe Great Wilderness. Though their lyrics express a more weathered and wintered experience than us Floridians can relate to, most can identify with their universal philosophy: ”Music can go beyond an auditory experience. It can become a means of...

Thanks, Taylor Guitars!
Well, after a long week of the insanity that is SXSW, we’re back to good old Gainesville sans 44-foot long tour bus. We have so much to share from SXSW: so many amazing stories, talented musicians, ridiculous experiences, lovely people, and most importantly: beautiful music! To start, we’d love to thank TAYLOR GUITARS, who graciously loaned us three acoustic guitars for the second...

2010 Music Website Heat Map
In my analysis of the 2009 heat map, I referred to Grooveshark as Jaws-like and this year was another feeding frenzy. Grooveshark now gets more visits than Last.fm.

WIRETREE
Just happened to stumble upon the indie/power-pop/rock quartet Wiretree while rummaging through recent sign-ups on Grooveshark Artists. How this little gem escaped our radar prior to this is beyond me - especially considering its sound brings to mind the likes of Wilco, Pinback, Elliott Smith, Simon & Garfunkel and Bon Iver - all favorites. Their most recent album, Luck, was released in...

Jurassic Park Theme 1000% Slower. Wait, what?
I’ve pretty much been riding this whole day on one 54-minute track that is literally just a Paul Stretch of the Jurassic Park theme song - slowed down 1000%. We all knew that the Jurassic Park theme is one of John Williams’ best works (who didn’t know how to play this beast on piano at one point in time?), but who would have thought it could transform into an even more elegant...
